Snow Report: ❄️ Storm Update & Mountain Operations

To our local community: we know Monday’s storm was a heavy one, and many of you across the county and U.P. are still dealing with power outages.

🏠 A Place to Warm Up If you are currently without power or heat, please know our doors are open. We have power, heat, wifi, and plenty of hot food available for anyone who needs a warm place to wait while the crews work to restore the grid.

🚠 Mountain Operations For those heading to the slopes, here is what you need to know for today:

Lifts Open: 10:00 AM. Snowfield chair could be slightly delayed as we are finding a few issues caused by the wind. It will be spinning as soon as possible.

Conditions: Our team groomed throughout the night to provide a solid base, but we’ve intentionally left powder stashes hidden all around the mountain for you to find!

Staffing: Please pack your patience today. Due to the storm, power issues, flight delays, and travel issues, we are operating on a skeleton crew. Our team is working incredibly hard to get you on the snow, but things may move a little slower than usual.
Stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll see you on the mountain! ⛷️🏂

Snowriver Mountain Resort         12 / 24 / 20
Snow Report: Christmas Holiday Terrain Outlook

The holiday stretch is shaping up to be one of the best we’ve seen in years at Snowriver. With 5 feet of snowfall already this season and more in the forecast for this weekend and through Christmas week, conditions across both Jackson Creek Summit and Black River Basin are quickly taking on a full mid‑winter feel.

As we move toward Christmas Day and roll into the New Year period, guests can expect a major terrain expansion across the resort. Based on current snowmaking progress, natural snowfall, and anticipated weather patterns, we are on track to reach approximately 90% open terrain by the start of 2026. The highlighted holiday terrain map reflects our best estimate of what will be available, including wide‑open groomers, great glades to explore, and expanded lift access on both mountains.

Thanks to a strong early-season storm cycle and consistent cold windows, our crews have been able to build deep, durable coverage—setting us up for excellent surface conditions and some of the best holiday skiing and riding Snowriver has offered in years. With another round of snow on the way, we expect the slopes to look and ride like the heart of winter throughout the entire holiday break.

We’ll continue to update the mountain report daily as additional trails and lifts come online. We hope to see you on the slopes very soon! - Complete Report - Lodging Guide
